Advanced Roadway Weather Information Systems or “A.R.W.I.S.” have become a more common means for collecting accurate & timely roadside weather information that provides current road surface condition as well as atmospheric data. A.R.W.I.S. systems have been proven to be a cost saving tool, reducing operating costs with proactive roadway snow and ice control.

An A.R.W.I.S. system collects data from “surface sensors”, atmospheric temperature and humidity sensors to determine if and when to apply Snow and Ice control products. Stacey Electric has been installing ARWIS devices and Systems for municipalities and agencies, since 1997. Other significant A.R.W.I.S. installations by Stacey include runway surface condition systems at GTAA.

Stacey Electric provides Factory approved installation and warranty service for Surface Systems Incorporated products. We installed the ARWIS system for the first MTO Area Maintenance Contract in Ontario, and since then we have installed several more ARWIS stations in Ontario.
